The Sepsis Advocate Companion App

A pocket guide for survivors and the people who love them. Built around the real, daily questions of recovery — not the medical chart.

The Companion App is in development. It will launch as a free, lightweight tool designed to do four things well, rather than fifty things badly.

What it will do

1. Recognise the signs — in 60 seconds

The SEPSIS warning-signs checklist, with a one-tap "is this an emergency?" decision tree for adults and children. Designed to be the thing you reach for at three in the morning when something is wrong and you cannot tell how wrong.

2. Track recovery, gently

A daily check-in for survivors that takes under a minute. Energy, pain, mood, cognition. The point is not to medicalise every day; the point is that on a bad week, evidence of a better week six weeks ago is the thing that holds you steady.

3. Caregiver mode

A separate set of prompts for partners, parents and family members — built around the questions the medical system tends not to ask. Are you sleeping? Have you had a meal today? Is anyone helping you?

4. Resources, when you need them

Links into UK Sepsis Trust, Sepsis Alliance, Carers UK, and trusted clinical resources. No paywall, no email harvesting, no upsell.

What it will not do

It will not replace medical advice. It will not ask for credit card details. It will not sell your data. It will not pretend to be a doctor. It will be honest about what it is — a small, useful tool, made by survivors, for survivors and the people who love them.

Be the first to know

If you'd like to be notified when the Companion App launches, send a short email to gary@sepsisadvocate.com with the subject line "Companion App". We will not use your email for anything else.

In the meantime

The most important sepsis information is already on this site — free, public, and shareable.
